FAQ

What is an elective prenatal ultrasound?

We offer elective 2D, 3D and 4D prenatal ultrasounds to provide you and your family the unique opportunity to view the miracle of your baby's development in amazing clarity, while helping strengthen the bond between your family and your baby.

Studies show that viewing a medical ultrasound can serve to further invest both the pregnant mother and her family in the pregnancy to improve overall wellness. All of our packages include media of the ultrasound session to extend the positive impact on the mother and to include loved ones unable to attend the appointment.

Can this ultrasound be used in the place of an ultrasound at my doctor's office?

No. Any woman that comes to Inland Prenatal Ultrasound & Resource Center for an elective prenatal ultrasound must be under the care of a doctor or nurse practitioner and needs to have previously undergone a diagnostic ultrasound during her current pregnancy. All of our ultrasound packages include a limited diagnostic scan which consists of confirming the number of babies, heartbeat and position of the baby or babies. At no time is this exam to be used in place of a complete diagnostic ultrasound.

Do you need my doctor's permission?

We are not required to have your doctor's permission, but we do need you to provide your doctor's contact information. We issue a report of the ultrasound to your doctor for them to read. If they wish to view pictures or video of the scan, they can do so at their request. Most doctors in Riverside & San Bernardino Counties are familiar with our services. We are proud to tell you that Inland Prenatal Ultrasound & Resource Center is the most referred ultrasound clinic in the Inland Empire.

What exactly is a 4D ultrasound?

A 4D ultrasound adds the element of time to 3D imagery.

Is 3D/4D ultrasound safe?

Ultrasounds have been performed and studied for nearly 40 years and have NEVER been shown to cause ANY harm to mother or baby.  In fact, studies have shown many benefits to having an ultrasound performed. Today, ultrasound is routinely used in all pregnancies in the United States .  The intensity of ultrasonic waves used to perform elective 3D/4D ultrasounds at Inland Prenatal Ultrasound & Resource Center is EXACTLY the same that is used in 2D ultrasound technology.

What kind of ultrasound machine do you use?

We use the state-of-the-art Medison SONOACE 8000, the latest in 3D/4D ultrasound technology. Please note: many other ultrasound centers claim their GE machines are the best, when in fact, Medison sold to GE. Medison is the company that invented 4D ultrasound technology.

Our technicians are certified and specifically trained to get superior quality images of your baby.

When is the best time for me to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?

There is no best time, since each baby is different and develops at different rates. Early in your pregnancy, between 16-25 weeks, you will see more of the baby's development - including the whole body on the screen at once. Later in your pregnancy, between 26-36 weeks, you will see more of your baby's facial features. After 36 weeks, it can become more difficult to get your baby in the right position to get the images you want, although we have gotten great results all the way up to full term as you can see by viewing our ultrasound samples.

Many women choose our two-visit Platinum package to see how baby grows and changes during pregnancy. Visit our pricing page or please feel free to contact us to learn more.

Can you determine the gender of my baby?

All of our packages include gender determination/confirmation (if desired). Our experienced, certified technicians can usually determine gender anytime after 16 weeks. We don't make any guesses here - if the baby is not in a position where our technicians can be absolutely sure, we will have you come back as a courtesy until we are confident about the gender.

I am having twins. Do the packages cost more?

You will have plenty of time later to spend double the money on your twins! Although your ultrasound session will be twice as long so we can get images of both babies, the cost of the packages is the same.

Will the pictures of my baby look like the ones I see on the web site?

Our technicians usually get great pictures. However, there are several factors that affect the clarity of the images we get. The baby's position, the possibility of the baby having an arm, leg or foot blocking the face, the amount of amniotic fluid and tissue density of the mother, and the gestational age can all affect the outcome of the pictures. If we do not get good pictures during your visit because of the baby's position, you will be given the opportunity to come back again for only $25.

I just want some pictures of my baby. What do you offer?

At Inland Prenatal Ultrasound & Resource Center, you have the flexibility to choose from packages we have created, or to build your own package. Please visit our pricing page.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Please contact our office to book your appointment. For your convenience, we offer weekend and evening appointments in addition to regular business hours.

How long will my appointment take?

Plan on spending about an hour at our wonderful facility. Your ultrasound session will take between 35-40 minutes, but please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to fill out the required paperwork and to choose the package and products that you desire. You will leave our facility with everything included in the package you choose, plus any additional media and products you want to purchase separately.

Can I bring family and friends?

Of course! We encourage you to invite those closest to you, including kids, to share in this amazing experience.  Our private viewing room comfortably seats 7; however you can bring as many people as you would like to.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Absolutely! Any of our packages make terrific baby shower gifts! You can purchase a gift certificate for any amount.

Are you still part of the Fetal Fotos franchise?

No, Inland Prenatal Ultrasound & Resource Center is now independently owned. We want to follow California medical regulations more closely and hire only certified technicians. Our lead technician is still the same as when you or a friend may have visited us when we were called Fetal Fotos.
